This whole explosion over Phil Robertson's comments vs. A&E's and the public's reaction has gone too far; it's Christmastime and even if it wasn't, life should be about loving God, loving others, and loving yourself however your abilities allow.
The world needs more love and less prejudice; we need to set a good example for the generations to come and so far, what example have we left for those who will come after us?
Are we really teaching to love God and others as He loves us? The whole controversy and reactions have just just gotten so ugly; that's not the legacy we want to leave for future generations, is it?
It's gotten so far out of control that I'm not sure anything would help this situation; it's a firestorm that was only made worse by reactions. The world just needs to take a deep breath and be peaceful, even if it's just over the holidays; is the hate really strong enough to mock the songs of peace?

Faith Will Survive While The Dollar Will Die - Response to A&E Network Suspending Phil Roberston from 'Duck Dynasty' - Written Decembr 18, 2013
"The Robertson family really believes strongly that if the human race loved each other and they loved God, we would just be better off," the reality star tells the January issue of GQ (on newsstands Dec. 24). "We ought to just be repentant, turn to God and let's get on with it, and everything will turn around."
Above is an excerpt from Phil Robertson's comments that PEOPLE Magazine shared online:
Below is a response to A&E suspending Phil Robertson from Duck Dynasty for his comments.
Dear A&E,
Do you truly value freedom of speech and do you really value
those who you allow to not only watch, but represent your company? Do you
believe in unconditional love and forgiveness, as is the true Christian way? Or
do you just care about the almighty dollar? Faith will survive while the dollar
will die.
If you do care at all, you will bring Phil Robertson back to
Duck Dynasty where he belongs and give him a chance to explain his comments in
more depth than was in the article about him.
I trust there are some in your organization that are old
enough to remember the whole controversy about Lucille Ball being accused of
being a Communist during her 'I Love Lucy' run; she was given opportunity to
explain herself and was treated like a hero for it.
America is about freedom and opportunity, yet your actions
against Phil Robertson show that your organization believes in neither freedom
nor opportunity. Duck Dynasty is a relief to watch compared to some of the
other shows that air racy content with no thought to respecting of dignity.
The action taken against Phil Robertson not only strips him
of his dignity, but it also tells the world that people are not allowed to make
mistakes lest they immediately become targets for societal crucifixion.
Forgiveness, not crucifixion, should be society's way.
Mark chapter 12, verses 30 and 31 say, "And thou shalt
love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all
thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second
is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none
other commandment greater than these."
Yes, Phil's comments were slightly crass, but Phil Robertson
and the rest of the Robertson clan are better examples of celebrities than a
lot of celebrities out there. They rely on faith, love, forgiveness, and a lot
of wonderful Christ-like qualities that I wish other celebrities had; faith is
a good fuel for long-term survival.
A&E, I implore you to have a heart and reinstate Phil
Robertson to Duck Dynasty with the opportunity to explain his comments in more
detail than was given through the media. The media has a horrible tendency to
maximize the imperfections in people and to misconstrue or eliminate the
context or goodness within.
Instead of crucifying Phil for this one incident, why not
look at the bigger picture and see all the inspiration that has been provided?
Sincerely,
Heather Cameron

Words For Star Trek: Phase II and its people - Written By Heather Cameron - April 3,2012
Here's to the future of Star Trek: Phase II.
As a great Captain once said, "Some people think the future means the end of history, but we haven't run out of history just yet.' he then quoted a great Klingon Chancellor who referred to the future as the 'undiscovered country,' saying that the Chancellor thought the undiscovered country might mean something else -another kin of life. That great Captain continued on by saying that, "People can be very frightened of change. To them and their posterity will we commit our future. They will continue the voyages we have begun and journey to ALL the undiscovered countries, boldly going where no man has gone before."
I hope nobody takes offense to this, but I am sure that in the beginning, people were not quite sure what to make of Phase II and I am sure that everyone in Phase II weren't quite sure what would come of it, but hoping for greatness. Phase II has not only reached greatness, but has exceeded it and continues to do so every day.
Phase II was based on what The Original Series laid the framework for long ago and it keeps us happily remembering what hopefully will never be forgotten. It may take time for all the finer handiwork to fall into place, as Patty referred to having 'lots in the works', but it will eventually get there and the end result will definitely be worth the wait, as has happened already.
May Phase II's family and work grow exponentially in the coming times and may the 'family' continue to do an extraordinarily fascinating job of 'continuing the voyages we have begun and journey to ALL the undiscovered countries' one step at a time. When I think of Star Trek Phase II, I think of an infamous quote that was said at the conclusion of the 'Star Trek: Enterprise' series by three great Captains (Picard, Kirk, and Archer) , all of whom undertook their own journeys with things always in the works. That quote is as follows, "Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise. Its continuing mission to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, To boldly go where no man has gone before.".
This journey is always in the works thanks to Phase II and I hope, as it has been, that it continues to be a memorable journey of many precious souls working together to accomplish a single purpose..

Bullying: An Ongoing Epidemic
Okay, so I have a Facebook friend whose special-needs daughter is the unfortunate target of sadistic bullies and it sickens me. It really does, but I am too far away from those friends, so I cannot do anything but hope and pray that things will turn out all right for this dear woman and her wonderful family.
This dear friend goes to the cops and guess what? The cop is as laissez-faire as a cop can get; serve and protect, not protect your ability to serve.
Wait...harassment isn't against the law? What is it gonna take for the officer to get a clue? Eggs on your house's windows or a fire on your front porch? Both happened to my family because I was bullied to hell and back in school.
I was always nice when I knew what was going on...that was and still is my nature.
Kindness can sometimes work, yes; however, it sometimes makes things worse.
It doesn't matter where people are from; there comes a point where humans finally say 'enough is enough' concerning bullies and they feel prompted to fight back for themselves or others who cannot.
Bullying is a flipping epidemic and that is a REALITY that has gotten worse with time and 'normal' people especially like to pick on the special needs people in some areas because the 'normies' feel somewhat superior over others because of their money, social status, and all the bullcrap that doesn't mean SQUAT in adult life.
The normal kids think that their popularity from their school days will carry over into the 'real' world, but guess what? Respect has to be earned and given in the REAL world and as (Whoopi Goldberg) Sister Mary Clarence said in 'Sister Act 2', "You wanna go somewhere and you wanna be somebody, you better wake up and pay attention. Honey; cause the real world is out there and they don't care how hip you think you are or who you kick it with. It don't matter. If you don't have an education, you don't have anything. And that's the truth. Honey."
Kids today are seeing less and less of what education there is in being an example to others, avoiding catching the epidemic of bullying, and proactively stopping it when it begins.
They think that their status will save them in the bigger world, but guess what? Status will not save them, but their character, attitude, and how they carry themselves day to day and what choices they make will either help them grow to their potential or sink them so low that even the worms wouldn't want em for their last meal.
The bullies are making their choices today, the consequences WILL come in a tomorrow and tomorrow may come sooner than later, depending on a variety of factors.

Memoir on 'A Hunt For Information'- by Heather Cameron - January 3, 2012
After helping a dear Facebook friend find some information pertinent to her writing, I am going to give a very brief, yet very detailed memoir on a memory that was triggered by this impromptu search for information...
The whole hunt for the information brought back memories of Introduction to Reporting class in college taught by a very skilled professor named D'Arcy Kavanagh; the class would be given a set of questions and a time limit to find the answers using whatever resources they could...sometimes we weren't allowed to use the Internet, which made it interesting....of COURSE there was confusion and borderline chaos in this hunt, but that made it more FUN!
What's even more interesting is that I didn't even really USE the internet for education purposes until 2005; I just used the offline parts of the computer for assignments along with notebooks, textbooks, paper, and pen....
I didn't even have access to a computer until I was 10 years old and didn't use them in school until I was 13/14....it's amazing how easy it is to find information these days on the Internet; I think a lot of people take for granted that the Internet makes accessing information so easy...
I don't use the Internet everywhere I go, as it's NOT everywhere...I am a writing professional like AmyBeth and I only lug my laptop on trips (it's HEAVY after a while) because of my love of writing and the ideas I get on trips for current/future projects...
Yes, I use the internet for terminology, emails, promotion, and information seeking, as well as daily devotionals...but I wouldn't die if I didn't have it at home (as McDonald's and other public places have it) and information is accessible in other ways and I can do devotionals and have them in storage for several days if needed....I've done it before.
I guess the relevance to this little spiel is that people should be grateful and not take for granted the advances in technology or boast about it excessively, as some places are not as technologically advanced, but they are still wonderful places to visit where wonderful people reside and where wonderful learning experiences can materialize...

Quebec orthopedists ask for pay to volunteer in Haiti - written January 27,2010
Yesterday, as I read online news, I came across the following link:
http://news.aol.ca/article/quebec-mds-ask-for-pay-to-volunteer-in-haiti/775644/?icid=main|canada|dl1|link3|http%3A%2F%2Fnews.aol.ca%2Farticle%2Fquebec-mds-ask-for-pay-to-volunteer-in-haiti%2F775644%2F
After reading this, I wrote this in a reaction of outrage and disgust.
Volunteering is defined as an individual or group contributing their time, effort, and skills to helping specific projects succeed without any expectation of money in return.
Imagine the shock that transpired when, according to the AOL news site, there appeared an article about orthopedists on Quebec asking for pay to VOLUNTEER in Haiti.
If it is merely a joke, it’s a horrible one, and if it is indeed real, one must wonder what these medical professionals would do if their demand was refused. Would they pack up and run away from the chaos?
Everybody knows that an earthquake has devastated Haiti and they are now in need of every resource, including the help of others, that is available. Sure, there may be a money issue here and there, but that is why volunteerism exists. There currently is and will be a need for volunteers there for a long time yet.
When one volunteers, normally it’s out of the good of their heart, because they want to help make things easier for others. When these medical professionals first arrived in Haiti to help, their hearts and minds were dedicated to doing whatever they could to help the displaced and afflicted.
However, it may be right to assume that the conditions they came across made them wonder if it was really worth it to commence work without expecting some sort of pay for their efforts.
Why are they bringing this issue up now if it’s any other reason than being overwhelmed by the situation?
Well, it seems a bit crazy, but money isn’t the only thing that can help with being overwhelmed in doing one’s best in a strange situation. A little prayer never hurt anyone, especially medical professionals.
It’s better to rely on prayer and faith, as well as the loving service that is provided to those in desperation, to get through tough situations like the one faced by assisters in Haiti. Money is a nice thing, but, like every other man-made thing, it will eventually disappear and all that will be left are people to help each other.
In times like the current Haiti disaster, money can buy needed resources and transportation for assistance, but WHY are the volunteers asking for a salary ? What are they going to spend their salaries on in Haiti?
If you want a salary, STAY HOME and work at your job. If you want to volunteer, go forth with a heart full of love and a mind not set on making money, but to help those who are not in a position to help themselves.
There are plenty out there with jobs that pay. Volunteers are they that TRULY make a difference.

Bill C-6: A destructive force being set to make natural healing processes illegal. - originally written on July 9,2009
AUGH, I thought with the instability of the government, this garbage over natural health products would end, but nope....
Apparently, the bill has been renamed to "Bill C-6" and has got the same purpose, to make selling natural health products illegal.
Seriously, this is CRAP. Who in their right mind would want to stuff processed drugs into people's systems that will only make them sicker, over the natural supplements that are actually beneficial to the body?
I mean, Health Canada is SUPPOSED to care about helping people and instead, all they care about is what money they lose when people opt to go for the natural way of improving their health.
This comes from an official site:
http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/cps-spc/legislation/acts-lois/bill_c6-loi-eng.php
"Bill C-6, also known as the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA), is proposed legislation that will help keep Canadian families safe from dangerous consumer products.
Bill C-6 was introduced by the Government of Canada on January 29, 2009. The proposed Canada Consumer Product Safety Act would replace Part I of the Hazardous Products Act and introduce a new regulatory regime. The purpose is to modernize and strengthen product safety laws by overhauling existing rules to further protect the health and safety of Canadians. It will continue to introduce necessary, concrete measures to make consumer products safer for Canadians and their children by prohibiting the manufacture and importation of unsafe products. Additionally, it will give the government the power to order recalls of unsafe products."
I understand the worry over lead in toys...but referring to natural health products as hazardous is going too FAR.
It is natural that those products would be included in the definition of hazardous, as this bill was originally named Bill C-51, and only the government's inability to productive operate internally, which they still have issues with, stopped the bill from being made into concrete law.
I was reading over the bill and it is very ridiculous. I mean, they are talking about outlawing the things that are best for our bodies!
(you can find the bill in PDF format at billC6.com)
"It creates prohibitions with respect to the manufacturing, importing, selling, advertising, packaging and labelling of consumer products, including those that are a danger to human health or safety. In addition, it establishes certain measures that will make it easier to identify whether a consumer product is a danger to human health or safety and, if so, to more effectively prevent or address the danger. It also creates application and enforcement mechanisms."
So, what this is saying is that Vitamin-C and herbal remedies are dangerous?!
I have never heard such a ridiculous statement in all my life! What is truly dangerous is that processed crap that doctors prescribe to "help" people get over ailments that costs them money that they don't have, thanks to the poor job market and economy issues that we face today!
Natural health products work better and cause less suffering to people who can't improve their health any further, and they are helping those that can IMMENSELY.
Isn't the Hippocratic Oath "Do no harm?" If doctors truly swore by that oath, they would be trying to help their patients save both money and their health at the same time...
By outlawing the natural supplements, the government is basically saying "We are taking this option away from you, we don't CARE about whether you suffer in health or loss of money, get your chemically processed medicines from wherever WE TELL YOU TO."
Hmm....that sounds like borderline dictatorship to me, I thought this was a democracy....I don't know WHAT the government is anymore...
By prescribing this crap that nobody can afford, doctors are NOT helping patients improve their health, they are basically saying that they don't care if the medication is too expensive, it's the only option they've got...
It doesn't have to be this way, but time is running out to make your protests known about this. http://www2.parl.gc.ca/Sites/LOP/LEGISINFO/index.asp?Language=E&query=5655&Session=22&List=stat says that the bill has ALREADY gone through the House of Commons and is on the verge of the Second Reading by the Senate, so if you have protests, ACT NOW!
Voice your protests now or forever hold your peace and watch as the government takes away the safe option to overall human healing....
If you are a lover and relier upon natural supplements and want to join the protest agains the government, or would like more information so that you can form your own opinion, visit:
http://www.billc6.com/www/stopc6/
Don't stay neutral in this matter if you use natural health products to help yourselves or others heal in anyway....Silence leads to tyrrany.
Speak up, let your voice be heard.
Save natural products, keep them from being made illegal....

About Me
- Heather Leigh Cameron
- I have had so many different experiences in my life and many were so meaningful that I decided to keep a record of them.
